The next weeding bee in Belgravia’s Native Plant Garden will be August 4 starting at 6:30 PM. We hope to thin out some plants that are taking over more space than they should have, as well as remove weeds.
The Saskatoons are ready to eat. The berries are large and they do taste good. The flowers are all growing well this year with the rain but let’s hope our chosen date is rain-free. See you then.
Giant Hyssop is a member of the mint family with anise flavored leaves and flowers. These can be used to make tea and the flowers have been used in baking to sweeten tea cakes. They are growing tall in Belgravia’s garden and are usually well attended by bees (as is the case in the image below). They spread readily and can be started from seed or seedlings.
