At this second annual Bike Fest, there was a hugely popular obstacle course, a market where many bikes found new happy owners, and a bike beautification station for (mainly) kids. The tune up stations were of course a huge draw, provided by two professional mechanics from Bike Edmonton, Wade from Narrow Path Cycle (visit him in Devon!) plus three skilled fixing enthusiasts. This awesome service was free to users, and very much appreciated. All the complimentary food, over 120 hot dogs and fruit cups, were gone in a flash. We heard that the fruit salad, expertly chopped and blended by a cheerful team, was the best ever, and perfect for the warm weather. We also had our friends from Edmonton Bike Coalition come and talk transportation politics and Pedalheads join us to provide help with the obstacle course. Hopefully everyone now has a wonderful cycling season, despite all the rain.

This event was paid for by a grant from the City of Edmonton, awarded 2025. (Thanks to the moderate spending last year, the funding was enough for this Bike Fest too!) A big thanks to everyone who helped make this a great event, including ALL BCL board members (extra shout out to Scott for the obstacle course, Felix for bike fixing and dealing with an overflowing outdoor storage space, Robert for help with bike washing and setting up, Jane for attending the membership table and Irene for planning & coordinating). In addition, thanks to volunteers: Fraser (who did not say no to an extra walk or two help set up and take down),  Ashley Bathia (who took initiative to the wash and decorating station), Andreas Tilgmann & Phil Haswell (for lending their capable hands and problem solving brains to the bike fixing stations), Linda Haswell, Catherine Compston and Ruth Craig (for their cheerful food prep and hot dog handling),  Kathy Williams (for jumping in on the spot to track sellers and buyers at the market), Jock (for emergency hot dog bun buying),  and hall manager Shauna Lengyel (at the welcome table and for general help).
