In the spirit of the International Cricket Council’s World Twenty20 currently underway in Sri Lanka, members of the Queen Alexandra community have planned a pick-up cricket game on Friday, September 28 at 6 pm at Rollie Miles Field (105 St. – 73 Ave.).
No experience is necessary, so if you have ever been interested in this fascinating and exciting game, this is a chance to learn more about it! Kids and adults welcome.
A representative from the Edmonton Cricket League will be on hand to teach the basics of the game and get things going. We will have cricket bats, balls and wickets and the other gear. You can bring your own water bottle and a small snack for the collective picnic blanket.
We’ll also bring some other sports equipment (t-ball stand, soccer balls, frisbees, etc) to keep the little kids involved and active if the novelty of cricket wears off.
