Dr. Jon McGavock will highlight Canadian-made “hot off the press” research discoveries. He will also explain how much physical activity your children need to be healthy, when they should be getting it and how to support them doing it.

This event is free. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Dr. McGavock is the Robert Wallace Cameron Chair in Evidence-based Child Health at the University of Manitoba where he established the Centre for Physical Activity and Cardiometabolic Health in Youth in 2006 focused on studying the role of physical activity in prevention and management of Type 2 Diabetes in children.

The Women & Children’s Health Research Institute is a partnership between the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services with the generous support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation.

Parking: available at the Jubilee Car Park on the east side of the Jubilee Auditorium (accessible from 87 avenue). Public transportation: buses and LRT stop directly in front of ECHA.
